Core IT will be carrying out a replacement of the core switches on August 7, 2026, which will result in a full-day period of downtime. During this process, all central systems—as well as many faculty-specific systems—must be shut down.

In the event of unforeseen issues, the work being performed by Core-IT could extend into August 8 and August 9, 2026. Normal operations are expected to resume on August 10, 2026.

Affected Services:

  1. LAN (Local Area Network)
  2. WLAN: eduroam, HdM-Guest-WLAN and HdM-Event-WLAN
  3. Internet access
  4. All cloud systems (e.g., SELMA, D3, ZoomX, bwCloud, bwSync&Share, etc.)
  5. Moodle, BigBlueButton, HdMSurvey, Panopto, etc.
  6. All storage systems (Filestore, FS1, FS3, FS4, faculty-specific storage systems, etc.)
  7. Email (for incoming emails, the sending mail server will make multiple delivery attempts; consequently, no emails will be lost, though they may be delivered with a delay)
  8. VPN (no VPN connections will be possible; existing connections will be terminated, meaning remote work will not be possible during this time)
  9. Printing and scanning

What remains possible:

Working locally on your own laptop or PC (without a network connection), provided that the necessary data has been copied to your local hard drive in advance.

We kindly ask that you plan your schedule accordingly to accommodate this period of downtime.
